Meet the doctors
Dr. Charles Bumgardner established his Lexington dental practice in 1987 and built its reputation one patient at a time. Today it is carried forward by Dr. Joseph McDaniels and Dr. Hampton Scott.
Dr. Joseph McDaniels, DMD
Dr. Joseph McDaniels has been practicing locally in Lexington, SC for the past 7 years. Before moving to Lexington, he was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force where he served as a dentist in various locations from Florida to Wyoming. Dr. McDaniels received his BS from Appalachian State University and his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (DMD) from East Carolina University.
Upon graduation, he completed an advanced residency program with the US Air Force where he had expansive specialty training in implant placement, endodontics, oral surgery, and other various procedures. Dr. McDaniels regularly attends continued education courses to increase his knowledge and skills in the latest procedures.
Dr. Hampton Scott, DMD
Dr. Hampton Scott is a Lexington native who grew up as a patient in our practice before joining our team in June 2025. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree before attending the Medical University of South Carolina, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Dr. Scott has continued his education beyond graduation and is excited to use his knowledge and expertise to serve the people of the community that his family has been a part of for over 20 years.
